2-Hour Sterile Compounding Update (6:45 - 9:00pm) • Friday, Sept 13

The Sterile Compounding Update course is designed for IV certified pharmacists and technicians, who wish to earn 2 hours of CE credit to expand their professional skills and expertise in areas relating to sterile intravenous admixtures.

NOTE: As of September 2015, the new TSBP rule (291.133) required specific CE to maintain Sterile Compounding (IV) certification. This course may be used towards your required CE hours.

The Sterile Compounding Update (formerly named IV Update) is a knowledge-based activity designed for IV-certified pharmacists and technicians, who wish to earn 2 hours of sterile compounding CE credit. The course aims to expand participants’ professional skills and expertise in areas relating to sterile compounding, while staying abreast current compounding practice trends.

Objectives

Identify personal protective equipment that must be worn when handling hazardous drugs.
Recognize unintentional routes of entry of hazardous drugs based on pharmacy activities.
