Summary:
This course in an audio recording of the lectures from the live Pharmacy Practice Seminar that took place in September, 2012 in Austin, TX.  The activity is designed to provide relevant clinical and practice information to pharmacists and technicians interested in staying abreast of new practice information as well as refreshing their current knowledge base.  Participants may earn up to 0.15 CEUs (1.5 contact hours) for successful completion of the course.
 
Target Audience:
This course is designed for pharmacists or technicians with any practice background.
 
Program Design:
This course is presented in a lecture format, available via MP3 audio files, and is accompanied by PDFs of the presenter's PowerPoint slides.  A post-test and program evaluation will be completed after reviewing the content of each presentation.  The post-test and evaluation must be completed BEFORE November 15, 2014.

This activity was recorded at the 60th annual Pharmacy Practice Seminar, September 15-16, 2012 at the Double Tree Austin.

  • Describe the pharmacology, adverse effects, drug interactions, therapeutic uses and dosing of selected prescription drugs recently marketed.
Technician Learning Objective:
  • Recognize the therapeutic uses of selected prescription drugs recently marketed.

Requirements for CE Credit

The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This activity is approved for up to 0.15 CEUs (1.5 contact hours) of continuing education credit.  In order to receive 1.5 contact hours of continuing education credit, the participant must review the recorded lectures and accompanying slides, then complete the post-test and evaluation before November 15, 2014.  A score of 70% or better must be received on the post-test.  Continuing education credit statements will be downloadable via CPE Monitor upon successful completion of the course requirements (please allow 3-5 business days).
