NOTE:  This program is offered to current UT Austin College of Pharmacy active Preceptors ONLY**  This content is only appropriate for UT Austin Preceptors. 
 
Throught this activity, UT preceptors will be able to identify the components of the experiential curriculum and how they meet ACPE accrediation standards, how to rationalize placement of the experiential components in relation to the balance of the PharmD curriculum, and be able to articulate reasons that the college conducts longitudinal assessment of student mastery of the curriculum.  
 
The activity was presented live by, Patrick J. Davis, PhD, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy’s annual Preceptor Orientation and Training Conference, held each August.  
 
This program includes a one-hour MP4 format video of the live conference presentation recorded on August 4, 2013, and a PDF copy of the presentation slides.  
 
 

 
NOTE:  Preceptors:  This CPE activitiy counts towards the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Liscensing requirements for Preceptors of "three hours of pharmacist preceptor training provided by an ACPE approved provider within the pharmacist's current license renewal period." (TX Administrative Code Title 22, Part 15, Chapter 283, rule 283.6, Section 3, B, II, ii)
 
** Note:  Participants will be audited to ensure they are current UT Austin College of Pharmacy preceptors.  Those found who have claimed CPE credit for this activity that are not current UT Austin preceptors will have their CPE credits removed from their NABP eProfile.

The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This online activity is approved for 0.10 CEUs (1.0 contact hours) of continuing education credit.  In order to receive 1.0 contact hours of CE credit, the participant must watch the video in its entirety, review downloadable PDF copies of presentation slides, complete the online post-test, and complete the online evaluation.

 

 

 

 

Objectives

  • Identify the components of the experiential curriculum and how ?they meet ACPE accreditation standards.
  • Rationalize placement of the experiential components in relation ?to the balance of the curriculum, including how other components of the curriculum prepare students for experiential learning.
  • Articulate reasons that the college conducts longitudinal assessment of student mastery of the curriculum both before and during the experiential components, and the timing of these assessments.
