Continuing Education Credit
The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This online activity is approved for 0.10 CEUs (1.00 contact hour) of continuing education credit. To receive 1.00 contact hour of CE credit, the participant must watch the included video in its entirety, pass the online post-test ( >70% within 5 attempts), and complete the online evaluation. Upon successfully completing the course evaluation, the continuing pharmacy education credits will automatically be uploaded to CPE Monitor (allow 3-7 days).

About the Speakers

Dr. Ashley Garling graduated Rho Chi with honors from the MCV/Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy. Her career path went from community pharmacy management, inpatient pharmacy with an oncology focus, to corporate clinical coordinator, and media spokeswoman. She is now a clinical assistant professor at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy where she serves as a communication, media, and patient engagement specialist. Dr. Garling is the principal investigator (PI) and Co-PI for research projects in community pharmacy settings spanning telehealth, HIV PrEP, mental health, patient counseling, and medication adherence. She currently serves as president of the Capital Area Pharmacist Association, Affairs Public Policy Council Member, and Public Policy Council Member of the Texas Pharmacist Association. Her career pillars are focused on public activation, empowerment of underheard voices, and health education. In 2020-21, Dr. Garling was awarded the Dr. Carolyn Brown DEAI Champion Award and the 2021 Teaching Excellency Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to diversity, inclusion, and pharmacy education.

Morgan P. Stewart, Pharm.D., BCACP

Morgan Stewart is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy (UTCOP). Dr. Stewart received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency at Ohio State University, followed by a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency at the University of Colorado. Dr. Stewart is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist (BCACP), board-certified in advanced diabetes management (BC-ADM), and practices as a clinical pharmacist at CommUnityCare Federally Qualified Health Centers in Austin, Texas. Her academic activities at UTCOP include teaching various pharmacotherapy and elective modules on ambulatory care and diabetes-related topics as well as precepting pharmacy students for both introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences at her clinic. She is involved in many professional organizations including APhA, AACP, and TSHP.
