UT Preceptors • Student Intern Learning Styles • Debra Lopez, Pharm.D.

 
NOTE:  The content of this activity was developed specifically for UT Austin Preceptors.  However, any preceptors in the state of Texas are welcome to take this course if the content is deemed appropriate.  
 
This activity covers issues concerning learning styles of adult learners, specifically pharmacy students.  In this program, Dr Lopez describes common learning styles, compares and contrasts personal learning styles common among pharmacy interns, and develops two teaching activities individualized to the varoius learning styles.  
 
The activity was presented live, Debra Lopez, PharmD, for The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy’s annual Preceptor Orientation and Training Conference, held each August.  The content utilized heavy reliance on UT Austin College of Pharmacy references and examples, however, the content is applicalbe for any pharmacy preceptor, as content is based on ACPE curriculum standards.  
 
This program includes a one-hour video of the live conference presentation recorded on August 1, 2015, and a PDF copy of the presentation slides.  


For Texas Preceptors:  This CPE activitiy counts towards the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Liscensing requirements for Preceptors of "three hours of pharmacist preceptor training provided by an ACPE approved provider within the pharmacist's current license renewal period." (TX Administrative Code Title 22, Part 15, Chapter 283, rule 283.6, Section 3, B, II, ii)
