Pharmacy Regulatory Advisors (PRA) and The University of Texas College of Pharmacy are pleased to announce the offering of a comprehensive live Texas pharmacy law review course to be held at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy. The review course will be presented by
PRA’s founding members Fred S. Brinkley, Jr., R.Ph., M.B.A. and Gary G. Cacciatore, Pharm.D., J.D. The review course is a comprehensive all-day live lecture program and serves as an excellent preparation course for students and pharmacists who are studying to take the Texas MPJE
® exam for licensure as a pharmacist in Texas.
About the Presenters:
Mr. Brinkley practices as a pharmacy regulatory consultant and currently coordinates and teaches the pharmacy law course at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in Austin. Mr. Brinkley previously served as the Executive Director of The Texas State Board of Pharmacy for over 20 years.Dr. Cacciatore is Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Associate Chief Regulatory Counsel for Cardinal Health, Inc. and also teaches in the pharmacy law course at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy.
Mr. Brinkley and Dr. Cacciatore have each been teaching pharmacy law in Texas for more than 20 years and have co-authored the comprehensive textbook Texas and Federal Pharmacy and Drug Law for the past 18 years. They also recently published The Ultimate Texas MPJE Review Guide 2016; a more concise study guide for the Texas MPJE. Together these two books provide the best resource to prepare for pharmacist licensure in Texas.
The Course
The course covers both federal and state laws and rules applicable to the practice of pharmacy in Texas including the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, the Federal Controlled Substances Act, the Texas Controlled Substances Act, the Texas Dangerous Drug Act, the Texas Pharmacy Act, and the rules and regulations implementing all of these acts.
