• Reversal Strategies for Anticoagulation


In this activity, Jennifer Gass, PharmD, MS, BCPS, BCCCP, identifies risk factors for bleeding complications with oral anticoagulant agents, lists strategies for minimizing the risk of bleeding with these agents, describes the relative benefits and limitations of emergent anticoagulant reversal strategies, and examines the clinical evidence supporting the use of emergent anticoagulant reversal strategies.
 
The lecture was originally recorded at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy's annual Hospital Pharmacy Practice Seminar, held on June 3-4, 2016 in Houston, Texas. 
 
Target Audience:
This course is designed for pharmacists. 
 
Program Design:
This course is presented in a lecture format, available via MP4 files, and is accompanied by PDFs of the presenter's PowerPoint slides.  A post-test and program evaluation will be completed after reviewing the  presentation.  The post-test and evaluation must be completed BEFORE June 2018.
 
Note:  The video and PDF documents were developed to work on most computers, tablet, and smartphones.
