NOTE:  The content of this activity was developed specifically for UT Austin Preceptors.  However, any preceptors in the state of Texas are welcome to take this course if the content is deemed appropriate.  
 
This activity covers issues concerning learning styles of adult learners, specifically pharmacy students.  In this program, Scott Soefje describes the timing of various stages of the performance improvement plan related to the six week rotation, he identifies the individuals who must be involved in the process and discusses the required elements of a performance improvement plan.  
 
The activity was presented live, Scott Soefje, PharmD, for The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy’s annual Preceptor Orientation and Training Conference, held each August.  The content utilized heavy reliance on UT Austin College of Pharmacy references and examples, however, the content is applicalbe for any pharmacy preceptor, as content is based on ACPE curriculum standards.  
 
This program includes a one-hour video of the live conference presentation recorded on August 6, 2016, and a PDF copy of the presentation slides.  


For Texas Preceptors:  This CPE activitiy counts towards the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Liscensing requirements for Preceptors of "three hours of pharmacist preceptor training provided by an ACPE approved provider within the pharmacist's current license renewal period." (TX Administrative Code Title 22, Part 15, Chapter 283, rule 283.6, Section 3, B, II, ii)

Requirements for CE Credit

The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This online activity is approved for 0.100 CEUs (1.00 contact hours) of continuing education credit.  In order to receive 1.00 contact hours of CE credit, the participant must watch both videos in their entirety, complete the online post-tests for each video, and complete the online evaluations for both activities.
