
Activity Description
The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This online activity is approved for 0.10 CEUs (1.00 contact hour) of continuing education credit. In order to receive 1.00 contact hour of CE credit, the participant must complete the online pre-test (ungraded), watch the included video in its entirety, pass the online post-test ( > 70% within 5 attempts), and complete the online evaluation. Upon successful completion of the course evaluation, continuing pharmacy education credits will automatically be uploaded to CPE Monitor (allow 7 days).

About the Faculty
Valerie Rosen, M.D.

Dr. Rosen received her undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Psychology from UT Austin. She received her medical degree from The University of Texas Science Center at Houston and completed a psychiatric residency at Yale. She stayed on to work at Yale University Health Services for a decade where she gained expertise in psychotherapy and medication management for college and graduate students and was trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a first line treatment for PTSD. She is now a Regional CPT trainer and the developer and Medical Director for the Restore Intensive Outpatient Program at Ascension, which utilizes CPT as its core modality to treat trauma. She is actively engaged in ways to improve treatment and access to psychiatric care for Veterans and active duty service members. In her role as Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Dell Medical School, she enjoys teaching and supervising medical students and residents and is involved in clinical research.
