2013 IV Update


IV Update
 
About:  The IV Update course is designed for IV certified pharmacists and technicians, who wish to earn 3 hours of CE credit to expand their professional skills and expertise in areas relating to sterile intravenous admixtures.  This year’s course will focus on the examination of processes that lead to medication errors, and the examination of the 2012 outbreak of fungal meningitis that caused sterile compounding personnel to look for ways of ensuring they are in full compliance with USP<797>. 
 
This program is offered as a Pre-Seminar program of the Pharmacy Practice Seminar (PPS) event.  For more informaiton on PPS, please see the website at:
 
Registration for the IV Update is open to any pharmacist.  Registration for PPS is not required.  
 
PPS participants must register seperately for this program.

Requirements for CE Credit

The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This activity is approved for 3 contact hours (0.3 CEUs) of continuing education credit. In order to receive 3 hours of CE credit, the attendee must participate in all sessions of the activity, and complete the online Evaluations for each session on this website at the conclusion of the program. Specific ACPE credit numbers and hours are noted in Agenda. CPE credit will be issued through CPE Monitor approximately 2 to 3 business days upon successful completion of the online evaluations.
