Preceptor • Experiential Teaching in a Virtual Environment


 
This program is designed for pharmacists who wish to earn 0.5 hours of precepting CE credit to use towards their 3.0 hours needed to maintain precepting certification, as required by TSBP rule 283.6(a)(3)(B)

Activity Description

This program may be applied toward the Texas State Board of Pharmacy CPE requirement for maintaining precepting certification.

Continuing Education Credit
 
The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This online activity is approved for 0.05 CEUs (0.50 contact hours) of continuing education credit. In order to receive 0.50 contact hours of CE credit, the participant must complete the online pre-test (ungraded), watch the video in its entirety, pass the post-test ( > 70% within 5 attempts), and complete the online evaluation.  Continuing Pharmacy Education credits will automatically be uploaded to CPE Monitor (allow 7 days). Please make sure NABP profile and date of birth (month/year) are correct under learner's profile in this system.

About the Faculty

Kristin M. Janzen, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Assistant Professor
The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy

Kristin Janzen is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. After graduating from UT College of Pharmacy, she completed a combined PGY1 & 2 Pharmacotherapy residency at Butler University and Indiana UniversityHealth in Indianapolis, IN, where she stayed on faculty for a year prior to returning home to UT. She currently practices at Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas in Internal Medicine, where she precepts APPE students and residents on academic internal medicine rotations. Her research and teaching interests focus on core medicine disease states, such as pulmonology, cardiology, diabetes, and interprofessional education.
