Learning Objectives
  • Assess how a suicide risk assessment informs an appropriate suicide risk mitigation plan and the benefits of this approach
  • Use available technology to enhance the suicide risk mitigation strategies of promoting protective factors and suicide safety planning
  • Formulate techniques to improve environmental safety including limiting access to lethal means

Activity Description

This program consists of 1 video and downloadable resources in PDF format.  To begin, take the ungraded pre-test for the module below.  Review the video and handout(s), then complete the post-test ( > 70% within 5 attempts) and evaluation. CPE credit will automatically upload to CPE Monitor (allow 7 days). 
 

Continuing Education Credit
 
The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This online activity is approved for 0.10 CEUs (1.00 contact hour) of continuing education credit. In order to receive 1.00 contact hour of CE credit, the participant must complete the online pre-test (ungraded), watch the included video in its entirety, pass the online post-test ( > 70% within 5 attempts), and complete the online evaluation.  Upon successful completion of the course evaluation, continuing pharmacy education credits will automatically be uploaded to CPE Monitor (allow 7 days).

About the Faculty

Dr. Rosana Steavenson completed her Bachelor of Science and later her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Connecticut. She then accepted PGY1 pharmacy practice and PGY2psychiatric pharmacy residency positions at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System inSan Antonio, TX, where she currently works as an outpatient Mental Health Clinical PharmacySpecialist. She holds board certifications both as a pharmacotherapy specialist and psychiatric pharmacist, and serves as Preceptor Faculty with the University of Texas at Austin College ofPharmacy, and as Adjoint Faculty with the University of Texas Health Science Center School ofMedicine in San Antonio. As a National Mental Health Subject Matter Expert for the VeteransHealth Administration Clinical Pharmacy Practice Office, she has served as a mentor, presenter, and consultant in efforts to help advance clinical pharmacy practice across the Veterans Affairs system.
