Learning Objectives
  • Review of clinical trials and demonstrated safety and efficacy research of a variety of novel heart failure medications
  • Review new agents in the treatment of HFrEF

Activity Description

This program consists of 1 video and downloadable resources in PDF format.  To begin, take the ungraded pre-test for the module below.  Review the video and handout(s), then complete the post-test ( > 70% within 5 attempts) and evaluation. CPE credit will automatically upload to CPE Monitor (allow 7 days). 
 

Continuing Education Credit
 
The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This online activity is approved for 0.100 CEUs (1.00 contact hour) of continuing education credit. In order to receive 1.00 contact hour of CE credit, the participant must complete the online pre-test (ungraded), watch the included video in its entirety, pass the online post-test ( > 70% within 5 attempts), and complete the online evaluation.  Upon successful completion of the course evaluation, continuing pharmacy education credits will automatically be uploaded to CPE Monitor (allow 7 days).

About the Faculty

Dr. Kitten is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy. She practices as a clinical pharmacist in the Cardiac Care Unit at University Hospital and in an outpatient cardiology clinic at UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Kitten attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2017 and her Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2019. In conjunction with her master’s degree, Dr. Kitten completed a two-year Pharmacotherapy Residency through The University of Texas at Austin and UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Kitten’s research interests include cardiology and large database analysis.
