Claudia Voyles, DAOM, L.Ac. loves needles! Claudia is a licensed acupuncturist for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and Karisha ONE, Health, Medicine and Wellness in Austin, Texas. She obtained her BA in Psychology from Yale University and worked in the behavioral health field for many years in clinical and administrative roles. In 1991, she trained as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) at Lincoln Recovery Center in the South Bronx and became one of the first official Registered Trainers for the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) in 1997. Providing the NADA protocol in behavioral health settings led her to a deeper study of Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM) at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and subsequently her doctoral degree at the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine where she remains on faculty. She ran a private practice and integrated healing arts center for 20 years. For the VA, Claudia provides individual and group acupuncture for up to 94 Veterans per week as well as offering classes in TEAM and Qigong. She serves as co-chair of an interdisciplinary committee working to improve Veteran access to Complementary & Integrative Health (CIH) modalities.
